Even after the first week of holiday started, I had been busy, not busy studying but busy enjoying, LOL!!! Every single day I had been going out and only a slacking Tuesday bring this outing streak to an abrupt end. 3 days of Penang Island, 2 days of Ipoh, 1 day of dim sum summed up the very very packed first week of holiday, haha...
I still vividly recalled the last day of the exam. Engineering Mechanics - the so called killer paper among USM first year students and expected, the paper serves his 'killer' tag very well. Well, nobody cares about that anymore since it was the final paper for chemical engineering students. The weather never thought that way. What a very very heavy heavy rain after the final paper, heavy enough to prevent everyone from getting the bicycles under the trees. I and 3 other friends ended up soaking in the rain while getting all the bicycles including those belonging to girls. A photo of the me was even taken.
The next day was the last day I will stay at USM for the first semester. However, I will not leave the campus till late evening. So in the morning I and 3 friends ended up hanging out in Parit Buntar, the nearest town to USM. 1 of them travelled to KL and 2 of them went for a haircut at a saloon while I was the so called 'vase', haha. The whole day was rather wasted and due to traffic jam, I waited even longer just to get home. 2 of my coursemates, Ming Ming and Toh Ping followed me home as they waited for 2 days to get their flight back to Kuching. How amazing that we 3 persons can make it a total of 20 bags of things which certainly stretched the car to the limit.
The next day was a busy day as I had made a long full day plan for my 2 friends, starting from breakfast near my house accompanied by the nice 烧包. After reaching Penang, it was the time to buy some local stuffs for them to bring back to Sarawak. That was followed by a trip to Gurney Plaza. The original plan of buffet lunch at G hotel ended up becoming a meal in Kim Gary due to the limited stomach space. We were so full that we gave up on the famous cendol in Penang Road. Up next was a trip to Queensbay Mall for a movie. This time round there was one extra person, another coursemate from Penang, Melvin. After the movie, we went back home by taking ferry. Penang Island had yet something else to offer as we went there again the next day. The destination was the Penang International Airport. It's time to bid farewell to my 2 coursemates as they took their flight back to Kuching. I would not be meeting them until Christmas.
The next major event on the list would be a short trip to Ipoh together with my sister. 2 days, 1 night, a trip to Tambun Lost World and lots of nice food. it's my first ever experience at Lost World so it's not that hard to see why I was so excited about it. The zoo, the games there, the pool and the beach volleyball. I had also eaten lots of nice stuffs, including a jug of carrot juice which I did not mange to finish, LOL!! Special thanks to Ah Man who had brought us around for the 2 days and also provided accommodation for both of us.
Well, what will be up next in my holiday calendar...it's another outing to Penang Island with 3 other coursemates again, 2 Penangites and 1 Indonesian. And yet more activities nowhere to be seen. I think that's all for this post. I will end it up with a few photos taken for this long but full week. Coming up in the next post will be the interesting, long review of my so colourful, fantastic and nice first semester in USM. Till then and stay tuned...
